In April 2024 I met the residents of the neighborhood overlooking the station of Cuneo, the city where I was born. I established a relationship and a dialogue with residents and passersby. I met the people who grew up in the neighborhood and the foreigners who arrived a long time ago or recently and now live in those streets and have opened a business. I listened to their point of view on the area, created by their own experiences and memories. I tried to document the present together with them and some people who offered to participate by creating a photography workshop. We used a large format film camera to reflect on slowness as a tool in an increasingly fast and inattentive world, to capture more nuances transforming the shot into a ritual. We photographed the hidden details of the neighborhood, spaces of memories and favorite places; we portrayed the people who allowed us to get closer to develop a narrative by mixing our points of view. The artistic residency was desired by the social promotion association MiCò and the Cuneo Centro neighborhood committee.
The result will be presented in may 9 2025 in Casa del quartiere in the Donatello neighborhood.
Nel mese di aprile 2024 ho incontrato gli abitanti del quartiere che si affaccia sulla stazione di Cuneo, la città dove sono nato. Ho instaurato un rapporto e un dialogo con residenti e passanti. Ho conosciuto le persone che sono cresciute nel quartiere e le persone straniere che sono arrivate da tanto o da poco tempo e ora vivono in quelle strade e hanno aperto una attività. Ho ascoltato il loro punto di vista sulla zona, creato dalle proprie esperienze e ricordi. Ho cercato di documentare il presente insieme a loro e ad alcune persone che si sono offerte di partecipare creando un laboratorio sulla fotografia. Abbiamo usato una fotocamera a pellicola di grande formato per riflettere sulla lentezza come strumento in un mondo sempre più veloce e disattento, per cogliere più sfumature trasformando lo scatto in un rito. Abbiamo fotografato i particolari nascosti del quartiere, spazi di ricordi e luoghi preferiti; abbiamo ritratto le persone che ci hanno permesso di avvicinarci per sviluppare una narrazione mescolando i nostri punti di vista. La residenza artistica è stata voluta dall'associazione di promozione sociale MiCò e dal comitato di quartiere Cuneo Centro.
Il risultato sarà presentato il 9 maggio 2025 nella Casa del quartiere Donatello.
